OUR STORY
The history of Brioche Dorée dates back its founder, Louis Le Duff, who opened the first Brioche Dorée Café Bakery in 1976 in Brest, France.
Throughout the years, the brand quickly gained notoriety acclaim with its uniquely Parisian style and urban French cuisine. The concept of freshly baked, homemade products with quick service successfully spread through France first, then Europe and now worldwide.
With 40 years of experience, Brioche Dorée is today an internationally recognized brand and the world’s leading French-style fast food chain, present in the largest cities. Serving more than 300,000 guests each day throughout the world, Brioche Dorée aims at always offering high-quality products and is constantly innovating to better satisfy its guests’ needs.

Three LE DUFF America Brands Recognized at 2016 Fast Casual Top 100.
Fast Casual is an institution completely dedicated to the high-quality fast food industry, a cross in between table service and takeaway. Each year, Fast Casual rewards 100 companies that have demonstrated leadership and have made great achievements in the field.
For the first time since the creation of Fast Casual’s Movers & Shakers awards, LE DUFF America has seen three of its American restaurants named among the top 100. “We are delighted to see our work recognized by being included on this prestigious list,” explains Claude Bergeron, CEO of LE DUFF America. “We make it a point to have high standards and we are proud of our culinary values which combine freshness, conviviality and simplicity. This recognition is for us the ultimate proof of our contribution to the industry.”
A history of success
Louis Le Duff founded Brioche Dorée in Brest in 1976. Successfully introduced to the United States due to its head office being located in Montréal, Brioche Dorée is now the world leader for French fast food cuisine. With over 550 bakeries worldwide that also serve sandwiches, the brand guarantees a “just like home” atmosphere with original and gourmet menus inspired by the original restaurant founded 40 years ago.
La Madeleine is ranked number one for French casual restaurants in the United States. The chain is a staple of LE DUFF America since 2002 and the precursor of the fast casual concept in America since its creation in 1983.
Bruegger’s, who joined LE DUFF America in 2011, is ranked second in the bagels and coffee industry. The chain has been offering authentic New York-style bagels for over 30 years and welcomes its customers in more than 300 urban and cosmopolitan restaurants.
These three brands have distinguished themselves among over 800 nominations and were selected according to several criteria such as innovation, growth, use of technology and social media, branding and marketing, and overall contribution to the industry.

GREEN PACKAGING
At Brioche Dorée we are constantly seeking ways to become more eco-responsible. With this in mind, we offer environmentally friendly packaging made from recyclable material. We also encourage local initiatives from our bakery cafés: recyclable sorting, use coffee ground as plant fertilizer… Ideas from our guests are also warmly welcome in order to improve our practices together.
